Stone Flooring

There are a few different types of stone flooring that are often used in properties such as granite, limestone, slate and sandstone.

Granite is a stylish yet expensive stone that makes a significant visual impact in what ever room it is used in. However, it does require a special type of finish so that it is not slippery.

Limestone, sandstone and marble type flooring on the other hand, is absorbent and, therefore, not a particularly good choice for bathrooms, as it easily stains from dirty water and other products.

Natural stone floors and walls are a beautiful addition to any home or business if they are well looked after. Most people are well aware of the required refinishing of their hardwood flooring, although, many people don’t realise the need to similarly maintain their stone floors, walls, and work-surfaces.

Initially, many of our customers don’t understand the visually stunning result that is achievable when floors that are dulled by dirt and scratches are restored to their natural beautiful form - until we prove it.

At Ceramic Stiles, we will often make an old marble, slate, or terrazzo floor look brand new by clearing away the worn top surface of the stone in order to reveal a perfectly pristine layer of finish underneath.
